Summary
Many people are using
trampolines to exercise and stay fit -- and they love doing it.
One of the main medical concerns of this decade is the sharp increase in
childhood obesity. A proven solution in combating obesity is an active
lifestyle.
An active lifestyle includes healthy eating habits and at least two and a
half hours of exercise per week. A good guideline for exercise is 20 to 30
minutes of moderate activity per day outside of school.
One fun way to get exercise is to use a trampoline. Jumping is
exhilarating and provides an easy way to work muscles and increase heart rate.
Trampolines also help increase flexibility and improve reflexes.
Based on a recent online survey conducted by Super Fun Trampolines,
http://www.trampoline.com, the top three sports enjoyed by children are bicycling,
basketball and trampolining. The average number of hours spent trampolining
was 3 per week, 33% more time than cycling or basketball.
Observing proper safety precautions is important in any sport. Cycling
requires a helmet, as do football and baseball. Trampolining also requires
participants to follow safety precautions.
Trampolining can be fun and safe if you follow these safety measures:
• Allow only one person on the trampoline at any time.
• Do not leave children unsupervised on the trampoline.
• Ensure your trampoline is properly assembled in a level area with at
least 10 unobstructed feet (3 meters) on all sides and 20 unobstructed
feet (6 meters) above the bouncing surface. Keep the area directly
below the bouncing surface clear at all times.
• Never jump off a trampoline, always climb off.
• Keep your bouncing low and under control. Consistently land in the
center of the trampoline.
• Avoid bouncing for long periods of time and do not bounce when you are
tired.
• Ensure spotters are always stationed around the trampoline.
• Master the necessary prerequisites before attempting a new skill.
• Do not attempt back flips/somersaults, multiple somersaults or twisting
somersaults on your backyard trampoline.
Trampolines are not toys, and both children and adults should not attempt
to perform tricks or stunts without proper training.
Super Fun Trampolines is a family-owned business that manufactures superb
