Interested in seeing the world move in a positive direction? We are too, and that's why we're happy to announce the beta release of a new solution-oriented content site where you're invited to participate!
The site is called www.InFiveSteps.com and it's a solution-oriented site designed to offer readers simple, effective five-step solutions to common problems or challenges. One solution I wrote, for example, is entitled, "How to lower your cholesterol by 30 points in 30 days," and it gives clear, concise instructions for doing so.
The really fun part -- and this is where YOU come in -- is that InFiveSteps.com is a community site where anyone can contribute a Five Step Solution. And along with your solution, you're able to include a bio section about yourself or your organization where you can link to (and publicize) any book, product, website, blog or organization that's relevant to the solution. So if you've wanted to reach the natural health community and get greater visibility for the things you support, this is the perfect vehicle!
Here's an example of a reader, Kristen O'Donnell, who posted her own "natural living" solution while publicizing a link to her health food store:
http://www.infivesteps.com/Live_Natural...
Another reader, an owner of an organic nursery, posted a wonderful Five Step Solution on cold composting (using worms to create organic compost). You'll find that at:
http://www.infivesteps.com/Cold_Compost...
It's all about the people
This new site, InFiveSteps.com, is not about news, or personalities, or selling health products. It's about becoming part of the solution by sharing practical, progressive information with real people who want to know how to make their lives happier, simpler and more fulfilling.
That's why the focus is on the authors, and each author gets their own page highlighting all the items they've posted, along with their bio and recommended links or resources.
For example, author Kristen O'Donnell's page is found at:
http://www.infivesteps.com/Author_Krist...
(She currently only has one solution posted, but if she posts more, they will be added to this page.)
Readers get to vote
To further support the success of authors, we've created a reader voting feature that allows readers to vote thumbs up or thumbs down on each Five Step Solution. The solutions with the most votes tend to move UP in the rankings on the site, giving greater visibility to the solutions that readers enjoy the most. (And of course, to avoid anybody gaming the system, each reader can only vote once for each solution.)
Top authors will rise to the top of the site and be featured under the "Most Popular Authors" section that appears in the right column of every solution.
Linked from NaturalNews.com
Once the launch of this site is official, we'll also be promoting various solutions from NaturalNews.com articles, special reports and even search engine advertising. Through these techniques, we're going to attract literally millions of readers from around the world who want to learn simple, safe and natural solutions to common health challenges and other topics.
All progressive topics welcome
Speaking of other topics, the InFiveSteps.com website isn't just limited to health topics. We welcome Five Step Solutions on gardening, green living, renewable energy, health care reform, saving the environment, animal rights, tax reform, personal finances and just about any subject that helps readers find solutions for a better life. The solutions must be well written, of course (we review and approve or reject each post), and they must offer real solutions without being overtly commercial. Within those guidelines, we welcome solutions on just about any topic that interests readers: pet care, how to raise children, exercise and fitness, travel and eco-tours, how to buy groceries, how to shop for nutritional supplements, how to choose a good doctor... you name it!
So if you're interested in sharing a solution or two with the world, come check out InFiveSteps.com, our community-focused solution website where real people like you are posting solutions that help make the world a better place.
There's absolutely no fee or membership required. We pay for the operations and promotion of the site with the Google ads that appear on the site (and thankfully, these ads seem to make more sense than the typical Google ads on NaturalNews, which are often way off topic and sometimes promote the very thing we're warning readers against).
Why we built it
I've been writing about medicine, health and nutrition for several years now, covering literally thousands of articles. (NaturalNews.com now posts over 20,000 pages of health news.) And in that time, I've criticized just about every player in conventional medicine, from the FDA and Big Pharma to non-profits like the American Cancer Society.
While criticism certainly has its place in any public debate about the future of health, there comes a point when most people are really just interested in the SOLUTIONS. They want to know what works, period. They know pharmaceuticals are dangerous. They know the toxic additives in the food supply are deadly. They know that governments and corporations don't care one bit about the health of the people. That's all old news.
What they REALLY want to know is what works. They're asking questions like: How do I really lower my cholesterol without drugs? How do I get the most out of an exercise program? How to I shop at the grocery store without buying MSG? How do I feed my kids healthy foods? How do I grow my own healthy produce in a garden? And so on.
These are the questions (and answers) that really matter to people, and this is what InFiveSteps.com is designed to address. It's not about what's wrong with the world of medicine, it's about WHAT WORKS from the world of natural living. It's about leveraging the mass consciousness of genuine solutions and sharing them with others.
And through InFiveSteps.com, each individual author can create a positive ripple effect that reaches out and touches the lives of potentially millions of readers from around the world. This is how we can help each other make the world a better place -- not by telling each other what's wrong with the way things are, but by sharing SOLUTIONS that help us move beyond the status quo and make the world happier, healthier and more fulfilling for us all.
Let's face it, the governments and corporations of the world are never going to deliver real solutions to the people. That much is obvious to anyone who's been paying attention. If we're going to uplift our civilization, we're going to have to do it from a grassroots perspective, by collecting and openly sharing the wisdom and experience of individuals who really know what works because they've personally experienced it. What's really going to change the world is a groundswell of activism from pioneering thinkers and troublemakers who shake up the status quo and help move society in a new, more positive direction.
The future of our world is really up to us. Folks like you and me... people who have already realized that the way things are today is not the way they have to be tomorrow. Through our actions and decisions, we can literally help make the world a better place for everyone involved -- not just the people, either, but also the plants, animals and the entire planet. All it takes is sharing some small piece of knowledge, one person at a time, and leveraging the power of Free Speech and the Internet to let this knowledge blossom into mass consciousness. Ever heard of the Hundredth Monkey effect? One powerful idea CAN change the way the whole world thinks.
That's what InFiveSteps.com is all about. Can one website really change the world? Not by itself, but the people who contribute ideas, knowledge and creativity through that website certainly can!
Do not ever think that you are powerless to change the world. You are more powerful than you can imagine, or that you even dare imagine. And there is no significant, positive change that has ever happened in the world that did not come from a grassroots group of dedicated, passionate people willing to speak out and challenge the status quo.
So whether you want to create a cleaner environment for future generations, or a healthier population in the next five years (or another similarly noble goal), InFiveSteps.com can either lend you a voice, or magnify the voice you already have if you're currently writing for a website, blog, commercial site or other content organization.
Yes, it requires a bit of writing, but you don't have to have perfect spelling, and you don't need to be a journalist or professional writer. All you need is something valuable to share with the world.
And we all have that.
