Turmeric isn’t just good for you – it is shockingly good for you!


Turmeric has been known to be a potent spice by ancient civilizations. Today, Western scientists are finally discovering what others have known for centuries.

The shock isn’t that turmeric is helpful and effective, it is the degree to which it is helpful and effective—in many cases more so than prescription drugs that produce horrific side effects.

A wonderful discovery about turmeric is that it is competitively effective with a class of steroid medications known as corticosteroids. A study in the journal Oncogene notes that the compound curcumin and resveratrol, found in turmeric, can be helpful in the fight against tumor cells by reducing their propensity to spread to other parts of the body and by also reducing their ability to inflame the local regions they occupy.

The research on turmeric has picked up in earnest and the benefits of this wonder spice do not seem to be coming to an end any time soon. Including turmeric in our diet, therefore, may be a good way to incorporate a natural preventative of many chronic and inflammatory diseases in our bodies.

Research has also shown turmeric slowing the spread of cancer in colorectal cells. It has also been found to have a positive result in diabetics by activating a natural mechanism in our bodies which restarts the process of glucose uptake.
