Revisited: Virginia Republican torches opponents over gun control following Florida school shooting; “Don’t project YOUR sins on us”

Seldom do Republicans make impassioned arguments in defense of the Second Amendment, which is constantly under assault by the American Marxist Party, a.k.a. Democrats.

But a state GOP delegate from Virginia — who is running for the U.S. Senate this fall against Hillary Clinton’s VP pick, Sen. Tim Kaine — not only made such an impassioned argument late last week, Del. Nick Freitas (R-Culpeper) accurately blamed liberal policies for a breakdown of traditional social values and mores as the root cause of the epidemic of school shootings.

Frustrated by Democrats’ fixation on “gun control” and reliance on “government” as the only solutions to prevent future school shootings — both of which have repeatedly failed to protect kids from being gunned down — Freitas was so withering (and spot-on) in his criticism that many opposition members left the chamber rather than listen to his salvo of truth bombs, RedState reported.

Others who remained feigned their usual liberal ‘outrage,’ including Del. Joseph Lindsey, D-Norfolk, who told the House that “today, I have been offended as I can never recall since being a part of this body. And I have seen many of my colleagues emotionally shaken and bothered by either a lack of concern for facts or just simply playing to the cameras, I don’t know which.” thePost noted.

Guess the truth is offensive to the American Marxist Party; none of what Freitas said was wrong.

The former Army Green Beret veteran began by putting the onus on Democrats to take a comprehensive approach to school security, not simply parroting typical gun-ban propaganda.

“So, over the last several days, Mr. Speaker, there’s been a lot of discussion about an open and honest debate with respect to school shootings, gun violence, gun control, etc…and an open and honest debate as I understand it, is one that would rely on data, facts, evidence, analysis, reason, logic, etcetera, etcetera… and I’m certainly willing to have that debate,” Freitas said.

“I think if we were going to look seriously at school shootings and gun control, we would analyze things like: Why do all mass shootings seem to take place in gun free zones? Wouldn’t it be reasonable to test whether or not the efficacy of gun-free zones have actually achieved what they’re intended intent is?” he continued. He went onto note that most of the mass shooters who have attacked schools have come from broken families that he correctly blamed on Left-wing social change policies and laws that disrupt or discourage traditional two-parent families.

“We would start to look at…most of the shooters come from broken homes. What sort of government policies have actually encouraged broken homes?” he said.

“You can look at Left-leaning think tanks like the Brookings Institute, that will actually say that some of it can be attributed to various cultural change that happened in the 60’s to include the abortion industry,” Freitas said, adding that he doesn’t believe Democrats really want to have a serious discussion on a variety of school security measures other than gun control.

And while Freitas said during his speech that he doesn’t believe today’s Democrats don’t support slavery, Japanese internment, and Jim Crow, he is personally tired of being told them that Republicans ‘have blood on their hands’ over gun violence.

“I would really appreciate it if every time you want to make a powerful point, you don’t project the sins, the atrocities and the injustices that the Democratic Party perpetrated onto others onto us,” he added.
