After fierce push back, Canadian ice cream maker boosts pay of unvaccinated employees to match salary of vaccinated ones
By Ramon Tomey // May 18, 2022

A Canadian ice cream company will now match the salaries of unvaccinated staff with their vaccinated colleagues'. The company was previously denounced for using pay raises as a way to force employees to get the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine.

According to LifeSiteNews, Ontario-based Chapman's Ice Cream will raise the salaries of unvaccinated employees by CA$1 ($0.78) per hour. Initially, the company announced in November 2021 that only those who got the COVID-19 vaccine would be entitled to the hourly raise.

Ashley Chapman, COO of the ice cream maker, explained that the pay raise for vaccinated workers served "to offset the cost of rapid testing for unvaccinated employees." She added that the company was covering the cost of the COVID tests. While the company did not mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for employees, the pay scheme served as a form of discrimination.

The COO lamented that Chapman's Ice Cream was accused of treating its unvaccinated staff members poorly.

"Being accused of segregation, medical fascism and some other insane things that people have been calling us – it just seems sad, to be honest," said Chapman. "It just seemed wrong we were spending that for the small amount of people who hadn't gotten vaccinated, when we feel the people who did the right thing should be rewarded – because it was also a bit of a slap in the face for them."

Chapman later walked back on her remarks, explaining: "Since the rapid testing program was modified at the end of the fifth COVID wave, all unvaccinated employees have been given the raise."

Boycotts of Chapman's product continue

Even though Chapman's Ice Cream had already raised the salaries of unvaccinated staff, it failed to mollify social media users who heard of the news in November. Some users reiterated that they will never patronize the brand again after hearing of its medical fascism.

"Thanks to Chapman's discriminatory policy, [its] ice cream will never taste the same. I have moved away from this supplier [and] I will boycott them all the way," wrote a Twitter user named Sharon van Lobb.

In a similar manner, theologian and Brighteon.TV host Dr. John Diamond exhorted Americans to boycott The Hershey Company for practicing medical fascism on its employees. He quoted an article by the Epoch Times confirming that the Pennsylvania-based food firm fired several unvaccinated employees. (Related: Dr. John Diamond calls for NATIONWIDE BOYCOTT of Hershey's products.)

Several former Hershey's employees who spoke to the news outlet said the company's human resources department intimidated them by asking intrusive questions. Others who sought religious exemptions from the COVID-19 vaccine claimed they were feeling "harassed" with the questions being asked of them.

"We're calling for a national boycott of all Hershey's products. We need you to get on the phone, call their help center and tell them why we are not supporting you and your product anymore. If this is the way you're going to treat us, then that’s fine – you're not going to get our money," the "America Unhinged" host said early this year.

"Boycotts are something that are very, very effective [and send] a very loud message. Ultimately, it hurts their bottom line [and] it affects their paycheck. We need to stand up and stand strong, and I think a boycott of Hershey's is going to be the best way to send a very, very loud message. And then, we need to start finding companies and institutions that are going to stand for freedom – especially medical freedom."

Diamond also rebuked the chocolate maker: "These people don't care about anybody else's paychecks. They're letting people go under this medical tyranny, you know. 'My body, my choice' only applies to one set of beliefs and not another."
