For Epoch Times columnist Jeffrey Tucker, Dr. Anthony Fauci is the single biggest reason why the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) has become a global pandemic.
"He's done incalculable damage throughout the world," Tucker said during a recent interview with LifeSite News senior correspondent Jim Hale.
Tucker, the founder and president of Brownstone Institute, noted that when the U.S. followed China and Italy in enforcing a lockdown, it sent a signal to the rest of the world that everybody should do the same.
The philosopher, economist and social commentator pointed out that Fauci went from being a traditional public health personality into a tyrannical health official favoring lockdowns, shutdowns and closures that eventually went out of control.
"He believed that he could control the spread through forced behavioral changes and worked very closely with Deborah Birx to bring this about," said Tucker, author the book "Liberty or Lockdown."
The daily economics columnist at the Epoch Times added that the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) was able to convince both Big Tech and the corporate media to back his campaign that rouses fear and hysteria.
Tucker stressed that Fauci definitely lied about his funding of gain-of-function through Eco Health Alliance and friend Peter Daszak.
Daszak's nonprofit organization received several grants from Fauci's NIAID to fund gain-of-function research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. (Related: Fauci and the NIH caught funding China's covid bioweapons research)
"And it's not just about that he's lied about everything. He's lied about natural immunity. He was asked countless times about natural immunity [and] each time he said, 'Well, we're looking into that we're studying that... We just don't know.' But we've known about natural immunity for two and a half thousand years. And so this was this ridiculous," Tucker said.
Tucker mentioned that a pandemic ends through domestic exposure and recovery. He added that people can't vaccinate their way out of a coronavirus pandemic because it is not possible and it is dangerous.
He also noted that Fauci has covered up all the things about wearing masks, having the vaccines and boosters and the use of COVID drugs paxlovid and remdesivir.
Fauci also behind censorship of alternative views
"What the one truth that everybody has to have is he worked very hard to suppress alternative views, worked very tightly with Mark Zuckerberg at Facebook. So he was responsible for a lot of the censorship that's been going on," the economist and social commentator said about Fauci.
Tucker noted that a lot happened during the pandemic. There has been so much demoralization, drug abuse, alcoholism, ill health and depression.
"It's an absolute crisis. And then you add on to that the economic crisis, which since the lockdowns began the dollar has lost about 14 percent of its value," Tucker stated.
He pointed out that people should have been allowed to go about their lives and business because COVID would be just like the flu that comes and goes.
Tucker stressed that there was nothing the government can do about it. He added that shutting down churches, civic associations, meetings and other activities to make sure that people can't go out to celebrate the holidays and other things was "a totalitarian and despotic move that should not have happened."
