Biden weaponizes taxpayer-funded “anti-terrorism” program to destroy conservatives
By Belle Carter // Jun 06, 2023

The Media Research Center (MRC) Free Speech America has found that President Joe Biden's administration spent $40 million dollars of taxpayers' money in grants to destroy conservatives.

According to reports gathered via the media watchdog's Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, the money was funneled to a program that facilitated seminars where an Antifa member instructed attendees to de-platform people they think are fascists off the internet and prevent them from gathering in public.

Paul Dragu, the director of communications of the political advocacy group John Birch Society, slammed Biden for repeatedly lying that white supremacy is actually the largest domestic threat. "So, it should be no surprise that at least one beneficiary of your money is an Antifa member whose agenda is to completely de-platform so-called 'fascists' and outright 'Nazis' off the internet as well as prevent them from gathering in public. Well, look at this twisted logic shortly," Dragu said in a recent interview with the New American TV.

Under President Donald Trump's administration, the "Targeted Violence & Terrorism Prevention Grant Program" (TVTP) was used to prevent terrorism. It was revamped under the Biden administration and renamed to provide funding for localities to combat "all forms of terrorism and targeted violence," an article on the MRC news website Newsbusters read.

"Instead of focusing on preventing actual violence and terrorism, the program is now being used to target the entire spectrum of the political right and Christians through 'media literacy and online critical thinking initiatives' and other so-called training seminars as part of a coordinated effort to make America into a one-party system," the watchdog's media site added.

As per reports, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), led by Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, awarded 80 grants through an anti-terrorism program. The report from MRC included that the department awarded the University of Dayton in Ohio $352,109 in the fiscal year 2022 to "develop and implement modules on the risks of and protective factors for radicalization to violence related to media literacy and online critical thinking for students."

The PREVENTS-OH program at Dayton received the grant after a seminar held at the university's Human Rights Center tied conservative groups to known hate organizations.

DHS denies allegations despite solid evidence

Researchers at Dayton later referenced the seminar as part of their grant proposal for the Homeland Security program. The agency awarded the program its funds in September 2022. But a spokesperson for the agency denied it. "This seminar was not funded, organized or hosted by the DHS," the spokesperson said.

MRC slammed DHS for not admitting the allegation, especially since a DHS employee also participated in the seminar in a virtual session to talk about the agency's Center for Prevention Programs and Partnership.

"DHS is lying through its teeth once again," MRC Vice President Dan Schneider said in a statement. "DHS did indeed fund the 'PREVENTS-OH' program a year after a graph and documents were presented that equated Nazis to conservatives, Christians and Republicans.

Each project under the program has received between $85,000 and $1.19 million.

Dragu said the project put on seminars and lectures by people like Michael Loewenthal, an open Antifa member who presented the "Pyramid of Far-Right Radicalization" in one of the "PREVENTS-OH" seminars.

Loewenthal tied groups such as the Republican National Committee, the Heritage Foundation, the National Rifle Association and Fox News to known hate organizations like the neo-Nazi paramilitary group the Base and the white supremacist website the Daily Stormer. He also linked Breitbart News, PragerU, Turning Point USA, the Christian Broadcasting Network, the American Conservative Union and the nonpartisan outlet Quillette with far-right, radical groups.

"This is the perfect example of the biggest problem we have in America today. The functionally mentally ill-disguised as college professors should be stripped of all certifications, diplomas, etc. and be relegated to the janitorial staff," Dragu said.

"The irony is that forging any partnership with the government to silence and banish people from the economy for thought crimes, makes them the actual fascists. Once again, we have a case of whatever they accuse others of doing. They're the ones actually doing it."
