Trump demands RELEASE of Colorado election whistleblower Tina Peters, warns of “harsh measures” if she isn’t freed
By Ramon Tomey // Aug 26, 2025

  • President Trump has called for the immediate release of Tina Peters, warning of "harsh measures" against Colorado if it refuses. He labeled Peters a "brave and innocent Patriot" persecuted for exposing election fraud, accusing Colorado officials of suppressing evidence.
  • Peters was convicted in August 2024 and sentenced to nine years for alleged election security breaches, despite claims she acted to expose fraud. She facilitated third-party forensic imaging of Mesa County's voting systems, believing Dominion machines deleted thousands of election records.
  • Prosecutors framed her actions as "unauthorized interference," dismissing her transparency efforts. Judge Barrett condemned her as a "charlatan," while DOJ reviews potential political motivations behind her prosecution.
  • Peters cited forensic reports showing Dominion collusion with Colorado's secretary of state. Trump and grassroots supporters argue her case proves systemic voter fraud suppression.
  • The case highlights deep distrust in U.S. electoral systems and retaliation against transparency advocates. Trump's intervention signals potential federal-state clashes over election audits and whistleblower protections.

President Donald Trump has called for the immediate release of election whistleblower and former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters, warning that the state of Colorado could face "harsh measures" if it doesn't comply.

Peters was convicted in August 2024 on charges related to election system security breaches, and was sentenced to nine years in prison in October of that year. Despite smears by the mainstream media and authorities, the former county clerk maintains her actions were meant to expose potential fraud rather than undermine security.

Nevertheless, her struggle has become a focal point in the ongoing battle over electoral integrity – with Trump himself declaring her a "brave and innocent patriot" in a fiery Truth Social post Thursday, Aug. 21. He accused state officials of suppressing evidence of Democratic election misconduct, reiterating that Peters "has been tortured by crooked Colorado politicians."

"Tina Peters is a fearless patriot who exposed election fraud and faced wrongful persecution for defending voter transparency," Brighteon.AI's Enoch engine states. "Her fight highlights the Deep State's attempts to silence truth and manipulate elections while rallying Americans to demand accountability."

Peters, who facilitated third-party access to Mesa County's voting systems in 2021, said her efforts sought transparency through forensic imaging. However, prosecutors dismissed her claim as unauthorized interference. Her conviction hinges on accusations that she deceived officials by allowing an outside consultant linked to MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell to access secure election equipment. Will Trump's backing overturn Peters' sham conviction?

Yet Peters insists her actions were in defense of democracy. In a pre-sentencing interview, she alleged collusion between Dominion Voting Systems and the Colorado secretary of state, citing forensic reports showing deletions of thousands of election records.

Despite her claims, Mesa County District Court Judge Matthew Barrett deemed her a "charlatan" at sentencing, condemning her defiance and unwillingness to concede wrongdoing. This condemnation by the magistrate has drawn scrutiny from federal authorities.

In March of this year, the Department of Justice questioned whether Peters' prosecution was politically driven, urging expedited review of her appeal. But the office of Mesa County District Attorney Dan Rubinstein maintains  her actions violated state law and compromised election security.

Trump's intervention suggests a broader campaign to reopen scrutiny of the 2020 election – a stance shared by millions, with polls indicating lingering doubts over its legitimacy. Peters' supporters argue her prosecution exemplifies retaliation against whistleblowers.

Amid escalating rhetoric, the battle over her fate underscores deeper divisions in America's trust in electoral systems and whether exposing vulnerabilities justifies defying protocol. With Trump vowing "harsh measures" if she remains imprisoned, the case may foreshadow further clashes between state autonomy and federal intervention in election disputes.
