The Perfect Fatty Acid Source for Your Weight Loss Plan

Until recently, there has been a lot of confusion about fats; which ones are alright for consumption, and how much of the good ones you should be incorporating into your diet. Most experts agree that our diets are rich in omega-6’s and deficient in 3’s, which creates a disease-friendly, chaotic environment within our bodies.

According to a study published by the National Center for Biotechnology Information, “Excessive amounts of omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and a very high omega-6/omega-3 ratio, as is found in today’s Western diets, promote the pathogenesis of many diseases, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, whereas increased levels of omega-3 PUFA (a low omega-6/omega-3 ratio) exert suppressive effects.”

These are all diseases which are wreaking havoc on our society, tearing us down one by one. But they can be prevented, and one big way to do that is to balance your intake of omega 6’s and 3’s. This sounds daunting and complicated, right?

The answer lies in a simple plant. Hemp oil contains the exact building blocks that we need to survive. It has the correct ratio of omega-6 and omega-3 for us to thrive with good health, and plenty of other nutrients that we need to survive as well, many of them essential. (Meaning our body cannot make it on its own, so we must consume it in order to get it.)

An article titled “Why Hemp?” published by Chii: Nutritionally Pure Hemp says, “With our over packaged, over processed diets, we are severely lacking in EFAs and need to increase this essential nutrient in order to avoid many common illnesses that are related to EFA deficiencies or imbalances. By taking 1 to 2 tablespoons of hemp seed oil a day, this gives you between 8 and 16 grams of Omega 6 (LA) and between 3 and 6 grams of Omega 3 (LNA), enough as a daily intake of EFAs.”
