Facebook is complicit in the global chronic disease crisis
By Ethan Huff // May 29, 2019

Just the other day, CrossFit Inc. made a bold public announcement that it will no longer be using either Facebook or Instagram (owned by Facebook) due to rampant social media censorship of free speech, which includes freedom of health speech.

In case you missed it, CrossFit is among the latest casualties in Big Tech's crusade against the First Amendment, as one of its member pages was recently removed from Facebook for facilitating discussions about the health benefits of maintaining a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet – this approach to nourishment directly contradicting the official government guidelines contained in the "food pyramid."

After being challenged for this arbitrary censorship, Facebook relented and reinstated the page in question, with no explanation whatsoever about its actions. And CrossFit, being a courageous and principled defender of our American right to free speech, is now calling Facebook to task for its crimes against humanity, which include its shameless contributions to the global chronic disease crisis.

"CrossFit is a contrarian physiological and nutrition prescription for improving fitness and health," the company stated in its announcement. "It is contrarian because prevailing views of fitness, health, and nutrition are wrong and have unleashed a tsunami of chronic disease upon our friends, family, and communities."

Not stopping there, CrossFit went on to declare that the millions of people who adhere to the CrossFit philosophy of nutrition and fitness aren't planning to stand idly by as their rights are steamrolled by the likes of that twerp Mark Zuckerberg, who's part of "an unholy alliance of academia, government, and multinational food, beverage, and pharmaceutical companies."

Instead, CrossFitters everywhere are prepared to "speak openly and freely about the ideas and principles that animate our views of exercise, nutrition, and health," the company went on to explain. And by doing this, the CrossFit community is defending its beliefs "against overarching governments, malicious competitors, and corrupt academic organizations."

First they came for CrossFit, but I didn't speak up because I wasn't a CrossFitter

Whether you've ever done CrossFit or not is beside the point. The bigger issue here is the fact that Facebook and Instagram, not to mention Twitter, Apple, Google, Amazon, and all the rest, are growing increasingly more audacious in their affront to individual liberty and free speech, which should have everyone, regardless of their philosophies on diet and exercise, concerned for the future of our country.

"Facebook's action should give any serious person reason to pause, especially those of us engaged in activities contrary to prevailing opinion," CrossFit contends, adding that Facebook's current monopoly "mandates a certain responsibility and assurance of good faith, transparency, and due process."

But since Zuckerberg and Co. refuse to exercise this responsibility, instead choosing to target their political foes with Stasi-like silencing of free speech, CrossFit is taking its business elsewhere – and is encouraging all others who possess consciences that haven't yet been seared to do the same.

"CrossFit, Inc., as a voluntary user of and contributor to this marketplace, can and must remove itself from this particular manifestation of the public square when it becomes clear that such responsibilities are betrayed or reneged upon to the detriment of our community," CrossFit further announced, cutting all ties with these Big Tech behemoths as a matter of principle.

Our country truly is at a crossroads. Are we going to continue heading down the path of Nazi Germany by allowing Leftist fascists like those in charge at Facebook to trample free speech rights, or are we going to speak up against what's going on like CrossFit has bravely done?

"Facebook collaborates with government security agencies on massive citizen surveillance programs such as PRISM," reads an entry in a long list of complaints against Facebook that was published by Human Events. "Facebook is thus complicit in the global chronic disease crisis."
