The east European country's parliament is set to vote on legislation that will ban the showing of pornographic content and materials that encourage transgenderism and homosexuality to children under the age of 18, LifeSite News reported this week.
"The measure, proposed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s ruling Fidesz party, explicitly bans 'content that depicts sexuality for its own sake, or promotes or displays deviations from the identity of the sex of birth, gender reassignment or homosexuality,'" the outlet reported.
"The legal amendment was added to sweeping legislation against pedophilia that is set for a vote" last week, the outlet continued, adding: "Fidesz holds a super-majority in the Hungarian legislature."
Under the anti-pedo bill, references and materials teaching LGBTQ ideology would be barred from schools. So, too, would advertisements and other mass media. The measure also provides additional guidance regarding sex education, including a list of pre-approved sex-ed groups.
Hungarian lawmakers are stepping up to protect the majority-Christian country's traditional values in ways that the U.S. ought to be doing, as leftists in that country try to warp, bend and pollute the minds of kids there the way that leftists are doing to American children.
In December, the Hungarian government accepted changes to the national constitution that defined the family as "based on marriage and the parent-child relation."
“The mother is a woman, the father is a man,” says the amendment, which also bans same-sex adoption.
The amendment notes further that “Hungary defends the right of children to identify with their birth gender and ensures their upbringing based on our nation's constitutional identity and values based on our Christian culture.”
Lifesite News adds:
Earlier this year, authorities also mandated disclaimers for pro-LGBT books targeting children. Orbán had denounced LGBT indoctrination of children last May as a “red line not to cross.” “To sum up my opinion: leave our children alone,” he said.
Hungary additionally has eliminated “Gender Studies” programs in state-run universities and enacted a law requiring recognition of citizens based on immutable sex rather than “gender identity,” though that law was partly curtailed in court in March.
Americans shouldn't expect these kinds of protections for our kids anytime soon. For one, our current 'president,' Joe Biden, recently trashed both Hungary and its right-leaning neighbor, Poland, as “totalitarian regimes" over such changes (yes, both are NATO allies).
Secondly, our courts would never allow such changes to be made unless they were made as constitutional amendments -- which is all but impossible in today's political environment.
But at some point, parents are going to have to push back big time like they are against Critical Race Theory, a straight-up Marxist curriculum that teaches our children to hate each other (and our country) based on nothing more than the color of their skin (remember when that kind of blatant discrimination was unconstitutional and illegal?).
And pushing back, parents are -- including a black father from Illinois, who ripped a local school board this week for its adoption of CRT materials.
“When you talk about Critical Race Theory, which is pretty much gonna be teaching kids how to hate each other, how to dislike each other … it’s pretty much what it’s all going to come down to,” said the father, Ty Smith.
“You going to deliberately teach kids, this white kid right here got it better than you because he white? You going to purposely tell a white kid, ‘Oh, the black people are all down and suppressed.’
“How do I have two medical degrees if I’m sitting here oppressed?” Smith continued.
“Two medical degrees. No mom, no dad in the house. Worked my way through college, sat there and hustled my butt off to get through college,” he added.
American parents are going to have to help preserve our uniquely American culture and step up, as Hungary is doing.
