Elon Musk to sell last house as he ponders plan to escape Earth
By Nolan Barton // Jul 01, 2021

Billionaire Elon Musk earlier this month said that he's planning to sell his last house – his property in California's Bay Area. He has repeatedly said he plans to sell most of his possessions, including all his houses, to fund a colony on Mars. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO said he wants to send 1 million people to Mars by 2050.

"It's going to take a lot of resources to build a city on Mars," Musk told Mathias Dopfner, the CEO of Insider's parent company, Axel Springer, in a December 2020 interview. "I want to be able to contribute as much as possible to the city on Mars. That means just a lot of capital."

As of this writing, Musk is the third richest person in the world with a net worth of over $156 billion.

Most of Musk's fellow billionaires still prefer Earth

His fellow billionaires are not planning to leave Earth.

An article published by Forbes a few years ago hinted that American billionaires were preparing for doomsday scenarios as they bought significant pieces of land in the country’s heartland where the climate is mild and the locations are conducive for continued existence.

Dry territories in the U.S. such as Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming and Texas are all very popular regions for the wealthiest individuals.

Media tycoon John Malone owns 2.2 million acres in several states including Maine, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado; CNN founder Ted Turner owns 2 million acres in Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico and North Dakota; real estate mogul and Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke owns 1.4 million acres, including a 124,000-acre ranch in Montana; Los Angeles Lakers part-owner Philip Anschultz owns 434,500 acres in Wyoming and Colorado; and Amazon's Jeff Bezos owns 420,000 acres in Texas.

Gates's own city, Hall's self-sustained communities

Microsoft's Bill Gates quietly bought 242,000 acres of land spanning 18 states across the U.S. while Oracle's Larry Ellison bought 98 percent of the 90,000-acre Hawaiian island of Lanai. Gates acquired 28,000 acres in Arizona alone to create his own city called Belmont.

"Belmont will create a forward-thinking community with a communication and infrastructure spine that embraces cutting-edge technology, designed around high-speed digital networks, data centers, new manufacturing technologies and distribution models, autonomous vehicles and autonomous logistics hubs," Belmont Properties announced.

The company detailed the plans – including putting 3,800 acres for office, commercial and retail space and 470 acres for public schools, and building 80,000 residential units. "Belmont will transform a raw, blank land into a futuristic city built around a flexible infrastructure model," the company said.

David Hall, a wealthy member of the Mormon Church, reportedly had plans for 20,000 person self-sustained communities throughout the country, including the first in Vermont with a recent 900-acre farmland purchase. The communities would have been called NewVistas, but local opposition killed the development plans.

Billionaires have future escape plans in place

Many billionaires have future escape plans in place in the form of "vacation homes" in different remote locations. For example, Ellison has multiple homes in Silicon Valley and Lake Tahoe; a private golf club estate in Rancho Mirage, California; mansions in Newport, Rhode Island; and garden villa in Kyoto, Japan.

Most of those billionaires also have their private planes or jets ready to depart at a moment's notice.

Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn and a notable investor told the New Yorker last year that he estimated more than 50 percent of Silicon Valley billionaires had bought some level of "apocalypse insurance," like a bunker.

Fortified and remote shelters caught a wave of interest especially at the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as people scramble to isolate themselves from the general public. Real estate developers are capitalizing on the moment with luxury underground doomsday shelters that cost as much as $3 million.

Those post-apocalyptic homes, often built on retired military bases or in missile silos, include luxury amenities and safety features like nuclear blast doors, armored trucks and massive stores of food and water.

Billionaires are preparing for something catastrophic

But Musk will not plan to leave Earth soon and Gates will not acquire raw lands just because they can. They likely know something that common people don't know yet.

In the early 1980s, spiritual visionaries and futurists provided clues to our changing planet. Often dismissed as crazy prophets, their thoughts for a new world were quickly ignored and laughed at.

One of them was Gordon-Michael, a futurist and a spiritual visionary. He claimed to have had a spiritual awakening that helped him create very detailed maps of future world, all stemming from a cataclysmic pole shift. The result, while not based on any science, provides a vivid and compelling picture of an Earth ravaged by flooding.

That scenario is more likely to compel billionaires to invest for future survival.

Scallion believed that a pole shift would stem from Earth Changes, nuclear activity and misuse of technology. But the most convincing argument is that an asteroid or comet collision with Earth would cause the entire planet to shift. (Related: Just one asteroid strike thrust the planet into YEARS of darkness, killing almost everything.)

Prognosticators provide detailed list of predicted land changes

In the event of a post-asteroid apocalypse, where are the safest territories in the world?

The following paragraphs are the detailed list of predicted land changes based on geological positioning. All shift predictions are based on theories from Scallion and other prognosticators and should not be construed as fact.

See the map of the "future world" here:

Africa will be divided into three parts. The Nile will widen significantly. A brand new waterway will split the entire area from the Mediterranean Sea towards Gabon. As the Red Sea enlarges, Cairo will disappear into the sea. The majority of Madagascar will also be taken by the sea. New land will rise in the Arabian Sea. A new landmass will develop to the north and west of Cape Town while new mountain ranges will emerge above ground in the area. Lake Victoria will merge with Lake Nyasa and flow into the Indian Ocean. Central and eastern Africa's coastlines will be completely flooded.

Asia will have the most severe and dramatic Earth changes. As the Pacific Plate shifts its position nine degrees, the islands of Japan will eventually sink, leaving only a few small islands. Taiwan and most of Korea will be completely lost to the sea. The entire coastal region of China will be pushed inland hundreds of miles. Indonesia will break up, but some islands will remain and new land will emerge. The Philippines will disappear completely beneath the sea. India's population will be told to go to the Himalayas – Tibet, Nepal, China or the higher mountains within its territory.

Antarctica will become fertile, soil-rich and farming territory. New land will be created from the Antarctic Peninsula to Tierra del Fuego, and east towards South Georgia Island.

Australia will lose nearly 25 percent of its land due to coastal flooding. The Adelaide area will become a new sea all the way north towards Lake Eyre. The Simpson and Gibson Deserts will eventually become fertile, farming land. Entirely new communities will develop between the Great Sandy and Simpson Deserts and new refugee settlements will be created in Queensland. New land will also be created off the coast.

New Zealand will grow in size and will once again join the land of old Australia. The country will quickly become the glory land and ultimately become one of the safest areas in the entire world.

Europe will experience the fastest and most serious Earth changes. Most of Northern Europe will sink beneath the sea as the tectonic plate underneath it collapses. Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark will all disappear. Most of the United Kingdom, from Scotland to the English Channel, will disappear beneath the sea. Several small islands will remain. Major cities like London and Birmingham will be among the remaining islands. Much of Ireland will disappear beneath the sea, except for the higher ground areas. Russia will be separated from Europe by an entirely new sea when the Caspian, Black, Kara and Baltic Seas combine. The new sea will stretch all the way to the Jenisej River in Siberia. The Black Sea will merge with the North Sea as well, leaving Bulgaria and Romania completely underwater. Certain areas of western Turkey will go underwater, creating a new coastline from Istanbul to Cyprus. Much of central Europe will sink and most of the land between the Mediterranean Sea and the Baltic Sea will be completely lost underwater. The majority of France will go underwater, leaving an island in the area surrounding Paris. A completely new waterway will separate Switzerland from France, creating a line from Geneva to Zurich. Italy will be divided by water. Venice, Naples, Rome and Genoa will sink below the rising sea. New lands will rise from Sicily to Sardinia.

Canada's northwest region will be pushed by almost two hundred miles. Regions in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and areas of Alberta will become the country's refugee center. Most migrations into the region will arrive from British Columbia and Alaska.

The United States will not be the same as the North American Plate buckles. California will be divided into almost 150 islands. The West Coast will recede east towards Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado. The Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway will combine and continue through the Mississippi River to the Gulf of Mexico. All coastal areas from Maine to Florida will be taken over by water and pushed inland for miles.

Mexico's coastal areas will mostly be inundated far inland. The California Baja coast will ultimately become a series of islands. Much of the Yucatan Peninsula will be lost to the rising waters.

Central America will sink and will be reduced to a series of islands. Higher elevations will be considered safe. A new waterway will eventually develop from the Bay of Honduras to Salinas, Ecuador. The Panama Canal will be cut off with no access.

South America will experience heavy earthquakes and volcanic activities. Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Peru and Bolivia will be taken over by water. The Amazon Basin area will become a huge inland sea. Parts of Uruguay will also sink below the sea. An entirely new sea will rise to take over much of central Argentina. A huge landmass will develop and combine with Chile.
