Is the NRA a “terrorist organization?” A lot of Democrats think so, but they have no problems with Antifa
By JD Heyes // Sep 11, 2019

More and more, the Democrat-aligned Left is proving they are the modern-day incarnation of every sort of authoritarian regime of the 1900s including the Nazis, the Italian fascists, and the Soviet Communists all rolled into one.

Any political views the Left disagrees with they want censored. Any person who espouses a competing idea or policy they want banned from the public square. And any organization that falls outside their narrow-minded Marxist worldview should be treated as an enemy of the state, even though they support real enemies of America — like Antifa.

According to a new Rasmussen Reports survey, more than a quarter of Democrats surveyed said they would have no problem outlawing membership in the National Rifle Association. Yes, to the Left, the First Amendment’s freedom of expression and association clauses are only good if they approve of the expression and the association.

In all, 28 percent of Democrats surveyed said Americans ought to be prohibited from joining the NRA or any gun-rights groups. Also, 23 percent among all voters believe that the NRA should be designated a “terrorist organization,” which includes nearly one-third, or 32 percent, of self-identified Democrats.

And these views are held despite the fact that only 13 percent of respondents in the survey believe that NRA members are actually more prone to commit a crime using a gun, Infowars reported.

The results of the survey come on the heels of a decision last week by the uber-Left-wing San Francisco Board of Supervisors who voted to designate the NRA a terrorist group.

As NewsTarget reported:

In another stunt to deviate as far away as possible from our nation’s founding, the tyrannical Leftists running San Francisco continue to drop copious amounts of dung on the Second Amendment while they allow their streets to become infested with homeless drug users who steal for a living.

Fox News reported further that, according to the resolution, the U.S. is “plagued with an epidemic of gun violence” — which, of course, has to be the fault of the NRA, despite the fact that not a single NRA member has ever committed a horrific mass shooting. (Related: Baltimore’s Dem mayor actually believes the NRA supports private ownership of ‘rocket launchers’.)

Leftists pick and choose which parts of the Constitution they want to support

What’s the NRA’s role, then? The San Fran board’s resolution accuses the gun-rights group of using “its considerable wealth and organizational strength to promote gun ownership and incite gun owners to acts of violence.”

That’s a complete lie. The NRA teaches gun safety courses. The NRA promotes responsible gun ownership. The NRA promotes lawful gun ownership. The NRA does not encourage its members (or anyone else) to misuse a firearm and certainly to never use one in the commission of a crime.

The accusation is absurd on its face — so much so, in fact, that the NRA has filed legal action against the San Fran board over its designation.

NPR reports that the Board of Supervisors is trying to discriminate against other Americans “based on the viewpoint of their political speech,” the group said. While the group says the designation is a “frivolous insult,” the actions by the board “pose a non frivolous constitutional threat” by violating U.S. laws that protect free speech and association.

While the designation is not yet official because Mayor London Breed has not yet signed it, it will take effect after 10 days if she doesn’t veto it.

At the same time, the board of supervisors in San Francisco and throughout California and other Left-wing cities are resisting calls for President Donald Trump to designate Antifa members — who commit real violence against political opponents — a terrorist group.

Political violence, by its very nature, is “terrorism.” So that definition fits.

Backing a constitutional right, by comparison, is permissible speech. It’s distressing that the San Fran board doesn’t know the difference.
